evolution I
kelly grace smith
I see
the landscapes,
legions,
and lies
in your eyes.
The darkness and death,
the desire
in your sigh.
I can feel the embrace
of the God and the grace,
the tenderness, the space
your touch creates.
You are
everywhere
within me.
And I am
the resurrection.
It is so big,
this picture I see,
of you,
of me.
And yet, I can feel
every
detail.
And my world is
round.
Your humanity runs through my fingers
like silken threads
on a sultan’s bed.
I wrap my self in your innocence;
your anger,
your fear,
your dread.
I make love to the unknown within you;
to the light
at the end
of your tunnel.
My mankind,
so unkind;
knows not
this intimacy divine.
Instead, he worships the mind;
what’s shiny
and fine.
I lift you up as an offering
to your self.
Your incandescence
blinds me.
You are indomitable.
And I am
the resurrection.
I stand in my knowing
and my world is
round.
There is only stillness,
no sound;
All’s not lost,
but mine to keep.
I feel your heart beat and yet,
I leap.
You may extinguish your self,
if you so choose.
So much to become,
so much to lose.
And you are
free.
Me?
the resurrection,
I stand in my knowing
and my world is
round.
I was born into suffering,
died
and was buried.
Then,
I rose again;
to be love.
